I AM SWITCHING TO MAC!!!!!!




Stunningly pretty, easy and no complicated setup and driver look up shit, or windows update zzzz.....It took me less than half a day to get used to mac interface, even though I am poisoned for too long from windows.

By the way, did I mention widgets are cool???? I LOVE WIDGETS!!! haha, they remind me the interface addon in World of Warcraft. Some of the things that widget do, calender, stock price, currency converter, dictionary(I love this one), weather forecast and etc.

Oh and stickies are cool as well, although my screen are too small to put too many of them, but I think stickies should be cool on a imac with bigger screen :)

And then there are also the facts that I need to worry less about virus ( alot less..) , and updating my driver, and also ... blah..too many to list....

If you were finally fed up with windows like me, then I suggest you to try out mac :)
Since I didn't use windows vista, I cant give an honest comparison between mac os x and vista yet. But I will try vista in the near future, so stay tune ;)

Fish ball??!?



Haha, those aren't fishball :) It's chicken rice ball which is one of the few famous food in Malacca. Malacca is one of the place I go frequently due to work and of course, I take some time to try out the local foods as well ^.^

I had tried 3 quite famous chicken rice ball shop in malacca now, and to be honest, I dont really like it hahaha.... ( perhaps it's because I am from Ipoh, the place famous with 'bean sprout chicken') If I had to choose one of the best spot for chicken rice ball in malacca, I will definitely go this shop I just visited lately. I think the shop called 'Restaurant Chong Wah' (something like that, you wont see the sign anyway since it's on the very top of the building which we normally wont pay attention to). It's a white color corner shop at the end of the jonker walk, the shop is just opposite OCBC bank.

Check it out the next time you are in Malacca, perhaps you will like them better than I do ^.^

I am pretty sure the election result shocked and surprised us quite abit. The people have finally awaken, and they demonstrated their frustration yesterday, 'enough is enough'.

I have been reading newspaper, nanyang, sinchew etc, and I saw the reason they been giving on why opposition could win big is mostly that people are unhappy about the price hike. Well, this is partly true of course, however, is it really that simple? Do the press still think that us Malaysian are morons or what? Just because our nasi lemak rise a few sen, or our teh-tarik rise 20 sen then we vote for an opposition????

The answer is a definite NO!!! The Rakyat had been keeping quiet for so long and giving them chance to show us what they can do terms after terms, but we had seen enough of empty promises, 'banana-weaving' act, enough corruption and more.

There will be uncertainty in the coming future, but we should stay calm and sail through it, as it is normal when changes in process. Sacrifices are needed if we were to earn back our permanent rights. I hope the opposition can put up a good show to the rakyat and fulfill what they had promised, and then we might see even more lights in our future after another 5 years.

Let 3/8/2008 be a new chapter for Malaysia. The road to true democracy is still long and tough, however we must fight on!!!

Hmm...I just notice there were too much politics in my blog recently, haha....didn't really mean to turn this into a political blog :p

Battle of the Century



What a dramatic turn of event before nomination day. Cili padi is back and Guan Choy call it quit.

Fong Po Kuan reversed her decision and will be contesting again at Batu Gajah, which is a very good news for many people. Well, I wonder how would Najib react to this. Since he is saying po kuan is a 'caliber' leader, does this mean Najib will vote for her if he were in Batu Gajah??? ( hahahahahaha.....)

Guys and gals, If you are eligible to vote, please go and vote, vote for a change, vote for any opposition. I have seen a lot of my friends acting like it's none of their business. THIS IS VERY WRONG. Think again! Politics does affect us one way or another! Even it might not affect you directly, people around you, your relatives, your loved one or even your family might get affected!!!

So please, vote for a change! deny BN 2/3 parliament's seat for a start!

On PM dissolves Parliament

Sheikh Rizal Housein: Is the PM taking Malaysians for a ride? Does he think we Malaysians are real dumb? The whole world knew he was going to dissolve the Parliament yesterday. However, on Feb 12, when the media interviewed him, he dismissed it and even had the nerve to say that Parliament won’t be dissolved the next day.

Time and time again Malaysians have been let down by his insincere, shoot-himself-in-the-foot statements. At least he's consistent in that!

Raj: In less than 24 hours, the premier went back on his word on dissolving the Malaysian parliament. We Malaysians do not have any issues on his prerogative to decide. However, what matters most to us are his words. For a man of his stature, we expect a little honesty when he speaks out. But sad to say he never seems to realise that every word he speaks would reach 27 million people out there who eventually will find out that the PM lying.

Personally, and I am sure most fellow Malaysians also would agree with me, this portrays him as a man who never keeps his promise. He need not have lied. How to trust a leader who says one thing one day but makes a hundred and eighty degree turn in less than 24 hours? How to trust him with the future of Malaysians? Pak Lah, please tell me as Malaysian why should I trust you and vote for you? I deserve an honest reply from you.

Ludricrous: Our infamous and sleepy Abdullah probably had to be ‘told’ by son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin (considered as the most powerful man in Malaysia) and Altantunya Najib that he is supposed to announce the dissolution of parliament yesterday. Abdullah just didn't know he had to do it and now comes up with lame excuses for looking as lost as he really is.

If this is not the case, then why didn't Abdullah simply tell the media on Feb 12 that he will make an announcement the next day (yesterday) rather than make an about turn?

YSM: Five possible reasons for the prime minister’s flip-flop statement on the dissolution of Parliament:1. He is a liar and makes empty promises

2. He is unsure of his plans from day-to-day and makes decisions as and when

3. He was misquoted by the media that is owned by the BN

4. He received sudden inspiration on the night of Feb12.

Who knows? We will never know the reasons behind all the flip flops, u-turns and knots which our dear prime minister loves making.

Parliament Dissolved 13/2/08 noon


News from New Straits Times today:

‘Parliament won’t be dissolved today’

BANGI: Parliament will not be dissolved today.

The prime minister dismissed intense speculation that he would seek to dissolve parliament on the basis of his penchant for the number 13.

“No such thing,” Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told reporters after the launch of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s Institut Islam Hadhari.

Pressed further if today’s cabinet meeting would be the last for the 11th parliamentary term, he asked back: “What makes you think it’s going to be the last?”

“There will be more (meetings to come).”

I thought Pak Lah said the parliament won't dissolve today...well I guess it just another empty promise, what's new anyway?

Anyway, here comes the election.

CNY ^.^


I have finally have time to sit down and update my blog. It had been an outing marathon for me last week starting from Chinese New Year eve. We went to watch CJ7 on CNY eve, the movie isn't all that bad, it just not a typical Stephen Chow's movie anymore. In fact, we didn't see the old Chow Sing Chi for quite awhile now, Kungfu Soccer was kind of a turning point. His facial expression and body language are less exaggerate.

After the movie we went to ming's house to gamble, something that we won't miss during Chinese New Year. We were all expecting a revenge and win back the money we loss to him last year, however, we were once again disappointed. We were only playing black jack that night and ming seem to have very good luck during his last round of being banker. (we were rotating banker) CNY eve ended up to be such a disappointing night but it's not over yet!

First day of CNY was business as usual for me, visiting two of my relatives during the day; and of course it is not a cny without gambling. I played black jack again at my auntie's house and losing money yet again, seem like it's not my year..haha...Nothing much happened that night except watching another movie, kungfu dunk. I hate it when Jay not speaking in his own voice.

I usually have lion dance at my office house on the second day of CNY.

Relatives are gathering at my house to visit my parents. ( my father being the elder now, two of his elder sis already passed away). I didn't take part in the gambling session at my house this time because I needed to head out earlier to karaokes with friends. We booked a 10-12 people rooms but in the end only had 6. One of our friend, Mok, who usually join us had to go back to penang earlier this year to pay a visit to his father and mother -in-law (just married last year). Later that night we gathered at Leong's house and try to revenge on ming! This time we added one of our favorite game (because ming usually lose money in this game) , 'in between' and a new game which none of us know the name so we just called it 'eddie'.

For 'in between', every players will place a bet which everyone agree upon, let say, rm 0.50 or rm1. Hence if the bet is rm 1 and we have 8 players, the pool of money is rm 8. There is no banker, everyone takes turn to deal the cards and every player get 2 opened cards. Player who has more than 3 numbers in between the 2 opened cards get to participate to win from the pool of money. For example, let say if I get 2 to 5 as my opened cards and since there is only 2 numbers in between, I don't get to bet on the money and turn goes to next player. If i get Ace and King, that's mean I have 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q, 11 numbers in between which is the best open card combo one could get. Let say I bet all the money in the pool, which means rm 8, I will win all if i get any numbers from 2-Q. However, If I get the number Ace or King, I will have to pay double the money to the pool, which is rm 16, and the size of the money pool will increase to rm 24. When everyone had their turn, the game proceed to next round with any leftover money plus every player placing bet into it again. We choose not to place the bet again this year due to the 'fear factor' of the game. Chun was the highest double payer last year, which is around rm 100+. (hahahahhahaa....)

'eddie' 's fear factor is lesser and it gives the banker a good chance to make a lot of money. Here's how the game works, each players get 1 card including banker and there is also one opened card out there. Player will have to add up the number on the open card and the card player holding and see the sum you get. (J,Q,K count as 10) Only the last digit of the added sum is taken with sum of 10 counted as 'burst', so we have 1-9 with 9 being the maximum number you could get. (with the exception of triple picture cards, I will explain later) Each player get to add 1 card if they are not satisfy with their sum, 3 cards will then be added for a new sum. (could be a lower sum!)

Example : Card opened is 9, I get a 5, so my sum will be 14, hence 4 is my number. If banker number is greater than 4, I lose, otherwise I win. I can choose to add an extra card, let say if I get a 10 then my sum unchanged, If i get a 8 then my new sum will be 2, which is even lower!
Card opened is 9, I get a 9 so my number is 8, if the banker can't beat me, he will have to pay me double, vice versa.
Card opened is 9 and I get 10/J/Q/K, so my number is 9, If banker can't beat me then he will have to pay me triple, vice versa.
Card opened is picture card ( J Q or K), I get another picture card, my sum is 0 and I will add an extra card for sure. If i get another picture card, which means I have 3 pictures in hand now, then the banker have to pay me quadruple if he couldn't get 3 picture cards.

Here's the thing, when banker get either 8,9 or 3 pictures, every player will have to pay him double, triple or quadruple if they couldn't win or draw with the banker. In the case of 3 pictures, a rm 2 bet will become rm 8, rm 10 bet will become rm 40!!! Very nice profit !!

Ok enough about these 2 games, at the end of the night, we had a small taste of our revenge! The next day we went to have seafood lunch at sitiawan and we were cheated!! ('chop vege head') The dishes taste ok but there really weren't any expansive seafood ( no crab! no big fish and big prawn!) on the table and it costs rm 230!!!

We are on soccernet headlines! LOL



What a surprise, I just saw this yesterday night, we made headlines on soccernet woooo~~~ . In the report, it seem we are to bring in Ian Rush,ex-Liverpool great players, 'to solve the country goalscoring problem'.

From Soccernet :
"Khairy Jamaluddin, deputy president of the Football Association of Malaysia, told local media that Malaysia were struggling because of their poor quality strikers."

Yay, 'Malaysia Boleh'..not...Soccer is a team game, placing the blame solely on the striker is stupid. When your team don't score, it could be the strikers, but it could also be the midfielders because they can't create chance for the strikers up front!!!!!

So what do our FA think Mr. Rush can achieve here? Trains a world class striker like Henry, Ronaldo, Drogba etc? What do you think those world class striker can do if no one feed the ball to them?? I have a better suggestion to be honest, how about send them to shaolin to learn kungfu huh!!!! YAY!!!
I guess the FA think as long as we score, it's 'Boleh' already, aiya..bolehland mah, apa tak boleh right? As long as we scored, it doesn't matter the opposition score 10 or 100 goals on us! I felt that the money would be better spent if we used it on the training youth or raising the wages on our professional etc. But of course this is bolehland, it's bolehland culture, just like we send people to the space for no obvious reason.

Anyway, enough of local soccer. All eyes will be on Capello tonight. Could Capello be the England savior? We shall see. :)

I finally cleaned my house/room and the feeling is so nice, especially when I didn't clean my room for sometime already, hehehe, there were so many junks! One thing I hate about chinese new year is, Ipoh become so crowded and traffic jam everywhere! Ipoh just don't have the capacity to hold some many vehicles!

EPL 07/08

Another week gone and Arsenal manage to climb back to the top spot. After 3 years of dull epl, we finally get an interesting season this year. During the past 3 years, the top team pulled off too early, and the gap is absolutely smaller for this year. 13 games to go and it is yet to say who will be the champion.

Although I am an Arsenal supporter, I got this feeling that they might crack down later on and Man Utd will retain the title after all ; I guess the reason for me not believing them is that the young gunners haven't achieved any titles yet, unlike their arch rival which proved they could do it last season. However, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea are the title contenders for now, with Chelsea having the slightest chance. Fergie has yet to use his 'jedi mind trick' on the gunners, I guess we can expect a dramatic and controversial top of the table clash between Arsenal and Man Utd this year. (Perhaps something like vierra vs nistelrooy ^.^ )

The battle for the last spot to European football is fierce as well. We suddenly have a lot more contenders than before, and Liverpool being one of them. Other teams that still have the chance to fight for 4th spot are Everton, Aston Villa, Man City, Blackburn and Portsmouth. With the kind of team that Liverpool has, they shouldn't have any problem getting the last spot in my opinion, even though their performance are abit inconsistence lately. Eventually thing will settle down and the players can focus more on their game instead of on Rafa and their American owner.

Lastly, I will say Derby look certain to relegate this year and I hope Sunderland get relegated as well because I dont like roy keane :)

Game Over?



Markets are always hard to predict, I finally lost my patient and no longer maintain my bullish outlook on 2008 1st quarter. Market volumes are thin, confidence aren't there, euro's bank will start announcing their reports and ubs already writed down 14 billion, it looks like 'cai shen' (god of fortune in chinese) won't be coming to the share market this cny.

I have started selling my shares since Tuesday and incurred some losses. Keladi is the only position I am holding now and it's trading below my cost at the moment. My cash vs share ratio returned to 9 : 1 instead of 1 : 9.

I am going play safe for the moment, protecting my capital is the priority.

Extraordinary man does extraordinary thing. Whether it's good or bad, Suharto's actions during his regime were truly remarkable. Personally, I have no love for this man , but sometime I do ask myself, what would I do if i were in his shoe? Even though he evaded judgment from the Indonesian court, I do believe there are greater force out there and he will be judged eventually.

What a start for 2008...



January is quite an eventful month for the financial sector. We have 1500+ KLSE, poor quarter result from Citi, Merrill, Morgan Stanley and etc, stimulus plan from bush (fighting recession instead of terror! haha), fed surprise 75bp rate cut and of course, the biggest scandal in financial history.

A rogue trader named Jerome Kiervel used his position, plus a knowledge of the bank's security system, to construct 'a scheme of elaborate fictitious transactions' on European equity markets. The fraud had caused €4.9 billion loss and adding more salt to the wound, the bank post additional 2 billion write-down because of the exposure to the U.S subprime mortgage crisis. The second largest France's bank suffered total loss of €6.9 billion euro and they are now trying to raise €5.5 billion in new capital to restore their balance sheet. Unlike what Nick Leeson did to Barings in 1995, Jerome did not bring down the company this time.

I have been wondering, how could such a so called 'ordinary' employee does this kind of stunt without the help of anyone else inside? €4.9 billion is a big figures, I could be billionaire if i owned 20% of the losses ^.^

Housewarming....

It was my brother's housewarming (not me!) ritual and a casual lunch gathering with some of his colleagues and a few of our relatives. Since my brother is the quiet type of person, he didn't throw a usual housewarming party. Anyway, these are some of the photo taken.

We hired the sifu from one of the local temple and he was chanting and performing the ritual.


My brother was told to throw some rice, sugar candy into the stove and later cross over it. ( not sure what's the meaning of it )

and then he was to throw some coins and tangerines into the house. (so that money will flow into the house!)

after that he had to carry the stove which already burning with charcoal all the way into the kitchen. ( it represents he moves into the house officially, 入火?!? )

later on we were told to pick up coins and tangerines he threw in earlier, but of course, this part is my mother and her sister favorite ! (collect tangerines = 拾金!)

and finally the sifu did some more ritual at the back of the house and then he put a symbol with incantation on top of the front door. Rituals are over!

Just watched Cloverfield with a couple of friends...all I have to say is, it's really disappointing(to me) and totally different from what I expected...

Wow....nice...



The new Macbook Air looks very very nice. However features wise, it is really not that great compare with the laptops that you can get with the same amount of money (the one with ssd hard drive are even more expansive -_- )

But...who cares about functionality ! It's the style that matters!! :)

P/S. I wish they could at least put in an optical drive

I just want to know the ending!!

aiyaya....this lingam's tape drama is dragging so damn long.....

when it comes to tvb drama, I usually just watch the first few episode and then started fast forwarding it all the way to the finale. that's because I am impatient and sometime I think it's waste of time too since the plot are always the same -_-


and here I wish I could fast forward this lingam case and get to the ending as well :p

Just get uglier....


Well well well....seem like d-day is coming soon. Citi has suffered its first ever quarterly loss since the merger at 1998, plus more result coming out which fall under expectation (intel, jp blah blah)...and so it looks like another fed cut will be likely...

However, does rate cut really gonna solve the problem US is facing now? It just seem to me uncle ben is trying to delay the inevitable :) Once he is out of bullet(rate cut) and the china bubble burst, South is the direction where we all heading to ^.^

Anyway, back to KLSE, correction is unavoidable. 1st quarter should be ok but after that....dont play play! :)
